The name of this Shochu from Genkai Distillery references the founder of the company Tamesaburo Yamauchi.

This is a Shochu bottling that has been developed for the export market where shochu based drinks with higher alcoholic strength are desired by mixologists and cocktail creators. The Black Label version has a higher ABV of 43%.

The shochu is made in the traditional Iki method with 2/3 barley and 1/3 rice koji propagated with white koji. A single distillation in a reduced pressure / vacuum still achieves this subtly sweet shochu with deep flavours of the base ingredient barley.
