Inaba Shuzo

Expertly blending traditional brewing with modern innovations. The brewery, nestled in the foot hills of Mt Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, has been run by the Inaba family for six generations and was established in 1867. The current manager is Yoshitaka Inaba who adopted the family name after marrying Nobuko Inaba who is the Master Brewer or Toji.

Nobuko invented the sake called Stella which means ‘star’ in Latin. With popularity of this sake increasing the brewery’s nickname is ‘The Star Hometown Brewery’ and expresses Nobuko’s love for her brewery and for being back from city life under the starry night sky of her hometown.
