Created using highly polished Yamada Nishiki Koji rice which provides a fruity aroma and distinct rich flavours, Katsuyama Den is brewed in the Miyagi Prefecture of Japan. This saké offers a crisp and clean umami flavour which makes it ideal for pairing with tuna or salmon sashimi. It also goes well with meats prepared in either Japanese or Western styles. ‘Den’ comes from the word for “Tradition” and refers to the traditional way this saké is brewed, which is a fitting title, considering that this Junmai daiginjo is Katsuyama Brewery's finest example of traditional saké brewing. The name Den also means "to convey" thoughts and feelings.

KATSUYAMA "DEN" Received President Award, the 1st Prize in Kura Master 2019
Selected as one of the top five Platinum Award winners in its category and won the Prix du President award for best overall sake at Kura Master 2019, a French sake competition with 720 entries judged by 93 of the country’s top sommeliers. Head judge Xavier Thuizat commented that Katsuyama’s Den is “a sake with robust individuality, featuring a perfect balance of complexity and elegance. It was unanimously selected in the final screening as a truly magnificent sake.”

Received the prestigious Platinum Medal—the highest award out of 617 entries and seven categories—at SAKESelection 2018, a competition by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles judged by 35 experts selected from around the world.
