Brewery: Hanaizumi Brewery


Hanaizumi Saké Brewery has had a long-standing love affair with the Saké making process and it is exemplified in the “Roman” series of Saké. With a different Saké for every season, the Roman series derives from a combination of the Japanese words for “Number One” and “First Romance”. Overlapping with the well-worn phrase, “Brewing is Romance”, these combinations resulted in the “Roman” brand of Saké. Intended for the Spring season, Kasumi Roman Nama Genshu is a gentle, cloudy white that mirrors the beautiful surroundings of its birthplace in the Nango region. Made from four types of saké rice blended with pure spring water from the Ina river, this Junmai Ginjo evinces a sweetness on the palate that is tempered with a tingling sensation thanks to the use of the Utsukushima Yume yeast in the fermentation process.
